Hsiu-Chi Lu
(呂修齊)

I am an incoming Taiwanese PhD student at Northeastern University, where I will be advised by Prof. David Lazer. Previously, I received my Master's degree from National Chengchi University, mentored by Prof. Hsuan-Wei Lee and Prof. Jen-Hao Chen.

My research lies at the intersection of computational social science, network science, and sociology. A central theme of my work is social relations: how they are formed, represented, and transformed, and how relational structures shape phenomena such as culture, identity, stigma, visibility, and polarization.

Alongside this broader agenda, I also study network processes and policy-relevant challenges in digital systems, including misinformation, opinion dynamics, and online polarization. Across these projects, I use large-scale digital trace data, network analysis, computational text analysis, and simulation to connect substantive social questions with formal and computational models.
